Hypothermia Better Managed With Underbody Warming Blankets

Anesthesia has been concerned for a long time over the presence of hypothermia in the operating room, because we know that patients who get cold do not do so well.  In the past they have used warming blankets placed on top of the patient.  A new study shows that a warming blanket placed underneath the patient is more effective.  Next time you have surgery make sure you ask your anesthesia provider.  Read about it at Anesthesiology News
